GIVING

GIVING

Why Do We Give?

We give because it is an act of worship, obedience, and gratitude to God. The Bible teaches that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him, and giving reflects our acknowledgment of His provision. Giving is a way to honor God, trusting that He will provide for our needs while demonstrating faith in His promises.

In the New Testament, giving is framed as a voluntary, joyful act of love for God and others. Jesus Himself modeled generosity, and He calls His followers to love others sacrificially and to support the work of spreading the gospel.

Giving helps advance God’s kingdom by funding church ministries, missions, outreach efforts, and caring for those in need. Ultimately, giving is a response to God’s love and grace, reflecting a desire to serve Him and further His work in the world.

What Does God Say About Giving?

2 Corinthians 9:6-7

6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
